Description
The function of the excavator motor (starting motor) is to generate torque, which consists of a magnetic field, armature and brush assemblies. The excitation mode of the motor (starter motor) is series excitation. Due to the large working current, large torque and short working time of the starter, it generally does not exceed 5 to 10 seconds. Therefore, the parts are required to have high mechanical strength and low resistance, and most of the windings are wound with rectangular cross-section wires.
Characteristics
1. Magnetic field. It consists of field windings, magnetic poles (cores) and motor housing. Four magnetic poles are wound around the excitation winding, and the N and S poles are alternately installed on the shell. Field windings are made of flat thick copper wire with fewer turns per winding. Two of each of the four windings are connected in series and then in parallel, with one end connected to the insulated terminal of the housing and the other end connected to the brushes.
2. Armature. It consists of armature winding, iron core, armature shaft and commutator. The iron core is laminated with silicon steel sheets and fixed on the shaft. The slot of the iron core is embedded in the armature winding, and the silicon steel sheet is insulated with insulating paint or oxide. The windings are made of bare copper wire with a thick rectangular cross-section. In order to prevent the short circuit of bare copper wires, the conductor and the iron core are separated by insulating paper, and the insulation performance is good. To prevent the conductor from being thrown out under the action of centrifugal force, plug the conductor with an insulator at the notch, or compress it by rolling the iron cores on both sides.
3. Armature winding. Each end of it is welded to the commutator, and the current from the battery is directed into the armature windings through the contact between the commutator and the brushes. The commutator is composed of copper sheets and mica sheets stacked into a cylindrical shape.
4. Brushes. Installed in the brush holder, the brush is pressed against the commutator by the spring. In order to reduce the current density on the brushes, the number of brushes is generally equal to the number of magnetic poles, that is, four brushes, arranged in positive and negative phases. The brush material is extruded from 80%~90% copper and 10%~20% graphite. The brush holder is fixed on the brush end cap of the motor.
